[13 Horns]

[6 Horns]

Inspired by the Duke Ellington and Tito Puente orchestras, HB Big Band has 13 horn instruments (4 trumpets, 4 trombones and 5 saxophones), also (guitar, bass, piano, vibraphone, percussion and drums) and singers. In many occasions, the HB Big Band plays with an intermediary horn section, 2 trumpets, 3 saxophones, 1 or 2 trombones.

With these instrumentations, the possibilities of arrangements and repertoires are enormous, playing classics styles, such as the mainstream jazz (Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Gershwin, Cole Porter, etc.), and renowned composers of the MPB (Dorival Caymmi, Ary Barroso, Tom Jobim, Milton Nascimento, etc.) and for the traditional Latin rhythms (Benny Moré, Chucho Valdez, Ruben Gonzalez, etc), to the latest trends such as acid jazz, ska, funk and the contemporary mixtures of samba with hip hop.

With all this, HB Big Band has renewed the orchestra concept and revived the ritual of a dancing ball, creating great alternative for one who likes to hear and dance to good music.
